A purchasing agent buys reselling products, office supplies, and production materials for an organization. This role covers a broader spectrum of products to procure. As a purchasing agent, you also have other responsibilities, such as meeting and negotiating with suppliers. Keep track of inventory and request restocking when necessary.
Purchasing agents also conduct marketing research to find trending products to sell. They can work in multiple fields, including manufacturing, fashion, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. This is usually a full-time job in which they spend most of the time at the office and occasionally travel to meet with vendors.
