In the investment banking chain of command, a VP is the most junior of the senior positions in the firm. You will most likely graduate into this position from an associate position. As you enter this position, your work will transition from analytical work to client relations tasks. You may be in charge of creating pitchbooks or managing certain clients. Communication skills will therefore be vital to your success. You will be in charge of associates and analysts who will assist you with your tasks so you also need to show that you can manage a team effectively.
