Clinical psychologists deal with clients that have more serious mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder. These clients will usually need long-term care. There is a strong research component to this position, and a higher level of education is needed to get certified. You will almost always be expected to have a doctorate before you can practice as a clinical psychologist.
